Cookies · Plain-English explanation
Cookies Policy for the Refractory Catalogue Site
firebrickssource.com is a static catalogue site that, by default, uses only essential cookies. This page explains exactly which cookies are set, when they are set, what third-party services may set their own cookies, and how you can disable cookies in any modern browser.
This cookies policy explains the small pieces of information ("cookies") that firebrickssource.com places on your browser when you visit the site. It is written in plain English so it can be read in a couple of minutes. If you also need our full data-protection policy, see the Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. The browser sends the cookie back to that same website on later visits. Cookies are used for many things — keeping you signed in, remembering a language preference, measuring visitor numbers, and so on. They are not programs and they cannot read files on your device.
2. Cookies we use right now
firebrickssource.com is a static catalogue site without user accounts. It does not need cookies to function. As of the date below, the site sets only essential cookies — and only when you submit a form:
Form anti-spam cookies. When the quote-request or contact form is submitted, the form-handling service (Formspree or equivalent) may set a short-lived cookie used to distinguish human submissions from automated bots. This is purely a security mechanism and the cookie is not used for any other purpose.
We do not use any of the following on this site:
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Cross-site tracking cookies
- Marketing-attribution cookies
- Social-media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, etc.)
3. Third-party services that may set cookies
A small number of third-party services that we link out to may set their own cookies on your browser. These are governed by each provider's own cookie policy — we do not control them:
WhatsApp. When you click a WhatsApp button or floating icon on this site you leave firebrickssource.com and enter the WhatsApp web or mobile app, which is operated by Meta Platforms Inc. Meta sets its own cookies once you arrive there.
LinkedIn / Facebook. When you click our social icons in the footer, those services may set cookies once you reach their pages.
Formspree. Our forms are routed through a form-relay service that handles delivery to our sales inbox. That service may set short-lived operational cookies during submission.
4. Analytics — if added in future
If we later add web analytics (such as Google Analytics 4 or a privacy-preserving alternative like Plausible or Fathom) to measure aggregate visitor numbers, this page will be updated to disclose:
- Which analytics service is used
- What categories of cookies it places
- How long those cookies persist
- How to opt out
A cookie consent banner will appear on the homepage before any analytics cookies are set, in line with India's DPDP Act and EU GDPR/PECR requirements.
5. How to control or disable cookies
Every modern browser lets you accept, block or delete cookies. Look for the "Privacy" or "Cookies" section of your browser settings. Useful shortcuts:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Blocking essential cookies may prevent the contact and quote forms from working correctly. If that happens, please email us directly at hello@firebrickssource.com or message us on WhatsApp.
